Here's a fun craft for your preschoolers to make for a new years eve party. Of course, my daughter certainly won't be up until midnight on new years eve (and neither will I), but I'm thinking that we could count down to noon rather than count down to midnight.
Well, this noisemaker will sure come in handy. I actually got the idea for this craft at About.com.
We used a paper plate that my daughter painted with her new Melissa & Doug paint. We folded it in half and taped tissue paper to the bottom. We added brown rice inside and really taped and stapled the thing closed. Seriously, every nook and cranny is stapled and taped for fear of rice all over everywhere.
Such a simple and festive craft. And my daughter is having a great time shaking this noisemaker, while singing "Happy new year, happy new year, happy new year ......".
