Lately, I have become so blogivated. I don't know what has brought about this sudden blogivation, but I better take advantage of it before it goes away. Hmmm, I just had a thought - if this whole blog thing doesn't work out for me, I could write my very own dictionary.
Blogivated: Extremely motivated when it comes to your weblog. See also blogivation.
Anyway, I sometimes feel like I've lost all focus and my blog has become more of a parenting journal, which is not a bad thing. But I don't want to lose my original goal here which was to be place for child care providers, especially those of you who do it on your own at your home. It's so easy for me to lose focus because I'm not doing childcare right now. Well of course I'm taking care of my daughter, but you know what I mean. I'm taking care of one child not four or six.
In home child care is a tough thing to do because it is all day, every day. And you very rarely get a break. Except maybe when the children are napping, and even if you do miraculously get all of the children napping at the same time, you still have a million other things you could be doing. I don't think relaxing is one of them.
I also don't think that there are a lot of resources and means of support for people who do home daycare. And there should be tons of it because you're not only teachers, but you're chefs, artists, activity planners. The list goes on and on. And most of the time, you're doing it on your own, except of course for our wonderful preschool helpers. So with all that being said, I'm going to do my best to keep this a place that child care providers (and parents) will enjoy coming to at the end of a long day. Well, not every day because as much as I'd like to, I can't possibly update my blog every day. Maybe once my daughter starts preschool, but even then, I feel confident that I will suffer from bloggers block at some point.
So back to my blog: reorganized. I am going to implement some different things here at Green Olives & Ham. I'll start by giving you my fabulous finds of the week. Now they may not always be specifically for child care, and they may not necessarily be a fabulous deal. Although I'll try to find fabulous deals, I sometimes have expensive taste, especially when it comes to food.
I'm also going to have a picture of the week (taken by yours truly, for fear of copyright infringements). It could be an inspiring photo, a photo that just made me laugh out loud, or it could be a picture of an egg (in case I don't find anything else picture worthy). Of course there is one thing that's always picture worthy, but I'm not going to post a picture of my daughter every week.
So those are my changes, and there may be more. But we'll start with those, and see how they go. I'll still have other posts, but those are just regular things that you can look forward to. And you can always send me a note, if there are other things you'd like to see.
Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't write a dictionary. I mean look at all the times I started a sentence with ... But, And, So.
And so I go, but I shall return.
