P is such a fun letter of the week. There are so many great words that begin with P like popsicles, people, puppets, and paint. We decided to work with Pizza because we're working on improving our eating habits with our Nutrition theme.
I know you're all thinking Pizza is improving your eating habits. But really if you make the right choices (whole wheat crust, loaded with vegetables), pizza is pretty healthy.
So I printed out the large letter P on the computer and cut it out. We were going to paint it with red paint for tomato sauce, but didn't have any red paint, so I printed the P on red paper.
I also printed out tons of food clipart from KidzClub. I started by giving my daughter a choice of two things and said "If you were going to make your own pizza, what would you put on it -- peppers or a hot dog"? Of course for this one she said "A hot dog", but we ended up gluing the green pepper on. We also used cheese, mushrooms, onions, and garlic.
Sure sounds like a yummy pizza to me. We're going to try making this pizza for real one day this week. For more activities for the Letter P week, please see: Letter of the week: Letter P activities.
